About

To Provide and Advocate

Our definition of child care has evolved and expanded to focus on development and early education. Our work has grown to go beyond our centers to ensure that all children, families, and care providers have the right tools to create success.

Our mission is to provide and advocate for quality child care and early education.

50 Years of Child
Development Solutions

In 1969, Lafayette Community Care Center and the original Dennis Burton Care Center were founded with the common goal of providing affordable child care to working families. In 1976, they merged to become Tippecanoe County Child Care (TCCC) in order to expand their reach and help more families.

TCCC grew and continued to innovate child empowerment by introducing a variety of programs. In 1978, a program funded by the state of Indiana resulted in the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the Child Care Resource Network. In 1999, the Cool School After School Enrichment Program was founded as a United Way Priority Initiative, leading to our continued long-term partnership.

In 2013, TCCC rebranded to become Right Steps. Throughout our 50 year history, Right Steps has evolved into a multi-program agency aiding families and care providers. We carefully and strategically select partners and programs that will directly benefit child development throughout our communities.
