Right Steps Mission Moment - Sage & Colton's Story
Right Steps’ mission is geared toward helping children like Colten and their parents Sage. Colten was enrolled in the Right Steps Pre-K program thanks to Indiana’s Early Education Matching Grant. The grant provided Sage an opportunity to place Colten in a high quality Pre-K program at no cost to her.
When she enrolled her son, Sage mentioned she was looking for a job and was not having much luck. Rhiannon Ryder, Right Steps Downtown Director, told her that Right Steps was hiring and if she was interested to submit an application. She did and within a week she was hired as an employee! “I can now spend more time with him and see my son more often,” Sage stated happily. “My son is learning a lot at Right Steps Downtown. It is a great joy to watch him grow and learn. He comes home with new stories every day.”
These are the testimonies we strive to create throughout our community. We work to help families gain access to high quality care and early education for their children. This also gives parents the ability to work or go back to school.
